Continuing Education

Mandatory Ethics Training Deadline is December 31, 2024

In 1999, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) mandated that all REALTORS® must complete ethics training, regardless of their expertise or specialty. This requirement must be fulfilled every three years. The purpose of this training is to heighten member awareness of the key tenets of the Code of Ethics, create an awareness of and appreciation for the role the Code of Ethics should play in an agent’s professional life, to enhance professionalism and competency, and to encourage all REALTORS® to view their Code of Ethics as a living, viable guide in their daily dealings with clients, customers and the public.

What Happens if I Don’t Complete my 2.5 Required Hours Before Dec. 31, 2024?

It’s important to complete your 2.5 hours of required ethics training. If you DO NOT complete it before the Dec. 31, 2024 deadline:

  1. Access to Supra lockbox system will be suspended.
  2. Access to PAR’s Standard Forms is suspended.
  3. Broker is notified.
  4. Bright MLS is notified.
  5. Unable to use the term REALTOR® in all advertising/marketing material.

Ethics Course Completion Certificates

If you have taken your ethics course online or with a different school, you MUST send your course completion certifications to GHRI. Please e-mail them to Kim@ghar.realtor or Dee@ghar.realtor before December 31, 2024.
