150+ Commercial Real Estate Professionals Converge at Regional Conference

HARRISBURG, PA (May 31, 2024) — On Thursday, May 30th, over 150 commercial real estate professionals gathered for the annual Regional Industrial, Commercial, and Investment Conference. This event was hosted by the Greater Harrisburg Association of REALTORS® (GHAR), REALTORS® Association of York and Adams Counties, Lancaster Association of REALTORS®, and Lebanon County Association of REALTORS®.

The conference featured a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Kevin Schreiber, President, and CEO of the York Economic Alliance. Panelists included:

• Matt Beecy, VP of Facilities with WellSpan Health
• Maura Kennedy, Senior Manager of Economic Development with Amazon
• Derek Dissinger, Partner at Barley Snyder, Hospitality Industry Group Chair and Real Estate Practice Group Chair

Discussions during the panel included the impacts of technological advancements in their respective industries, how the job market is affecting their companies, and challenges that they face within commercial real estate.

The keynote address was delivered by KC Conway of KCnomics, LLC, who provided an insightful economic outlook. His presentation, titled “Addressing the Elephant(s) in the Room,” covered critical topics including:

• The overall economy
• The Pennsylvania economy’s slow growth
• The role and impact of the Federal Reserve (FED)
• Current commercial real estate conditions
• Capital and interest rates
• The implications of the small-box retail apocalypse on the PA economy

Katie serves as the Director of Member Engagement and Communications. She plays a vital role in enhancing the organization's reach and engagement with its members. Katie manages the organization's social media channels, designs promotional materials, maintains our website, and is the face behind the camera at all of our events! She crafts and sends our weekly e-newsletters and is responsible for media relations and press releases including our Monthly Market Statistics. Katie is also the staff liaison for the Member Value and Communications committee and the Foundation Board of Directors. She graduated from Millersville University in 2022 with a Bachelor's Degree, majoring in Speech Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and a Minor in English Journalism. While at Millersville she was a goalkeeper on the field hockey team, Opinion Editor for the school newspaper, and a member of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) National Leadership Honor Society. In her free time, she enjoys playing pickleball, completing jigsaw puzzles, and of course spending quality time with her three adorable cats, Marshmallow, Shadow and Speeder.
