Education Requirements
Meeting education requirements for both the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) and the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission can be confusing. The PA Real Estate Commission has mandatory courses to maintain your license, while NAR requires specific training to uphold your Realtor® status.
Below is a clear breakdown of the requirements for each, helping you stay compliant with both organizations.
National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Requirements
Required Hours: 4.5 hours
Cycle: Every 3 years (Current cycle: 1/1/2025 – 12/31/2027)
Required Courses for current cycle:
- 2.5 hours: Code of Ethics
- 2 hours: Fair Housing
PA Real Estate Commission Requirements
Required Hours: 14 hours
Cycle: Every 2 years (Current cycle: 6/1/2024 – 5/31/2026)
Requirements for those licensed BEFORE 12/1/2023:
- 3 hours: GHRI Course- Practice Safe, Legal Real Estate by Following RELRA
- 2 hours: Fair Housing
Requirements for those licensed between 12/1/2023 and 12/1/2025
- 7 hours: General Module
- 7 hours: Residential Module OR Commercial Module
