You’ve completed your orientation and now you’re officially a member of the Greater Harrisburg Association of REALTORS®, but now what? Let’s explore what it means to be a member.
3-Way Agreement
By completing orientation, you are now a member of:
- The Greater Harrisburg Association of REALTORS® (GHAR)
- The Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® (PAR)
- The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR)
These three levels work together to support you locally, statewide, and nationally.
This structure, often referred to as the three-way agreement, ensures you have access to education, advocacy, professional standards support, legal resources, and member benefits at every level of the industry.
What your M1 Number Means
Your M1 number, also known as your membership identification number, is an important credential tied to your REALTOR® membership.
Please keep this number in a safe but accessible place — you will need it to access key member benefits and resources, including:
- PAR Standard Forms
- PAR Legal Hotline
- REALTORS Property Resource (RPR®)
- Make an RPAC Investment
- NAR Insurance Benefits
- NAR Travel Club

Trademark Rules & Guidelines

REALTOR® = Member of NAR
A REALTOR® is a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). The term REALTOR® should never be used as a synonym for “real estate agent.” Not all agents are REALTORS®.
The preferred format is: REALTOR® (all caps with the ® symbol).
If the symbol cannot be used, the next acceptable format is: REALTOR (all caps)
Note: The term must always be separated from your name with punctuation | Example: John Smith, REALTOR®
