Greater Harrisburg Association of Realtors Give Back!

Enola, PA (Oct. 26, 2022) –Local Central PA charities will receive a helping hand from members of the Greater Harrisburg Association of Realtors (GHAR) this October.

Realtors® are volunteering in their communities through Realtors® Reach Out, a statewide initiative sponsored annually by the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors® in October. Over the past 15 years, local Realtor® associations and their members have raised more than $583,000 and collected 55,000 pounds of food, as well as thousands of meals and coats for charitable organizations throughout the state as part of this initiative.

More than 75 Realtors® pitched in to do a variety of different tasks for each organization. Members painted the entire inside of the Community Cares facility, helped New Hope Ministries prepare for Halloween by handmaking decorations and decorating the outside of their Enola facility. The following week, our members ventured to Central PA Food Bank to help sort over 200 boxes of meals for local senior citizens. In the final week of October, Realtors® tackled another painting and renovation project with Rebuilding Together and again with Family Promise.

“Realtors® volunteer with a variety of charities throughout the year. Realtors® Reach Out really showcases the impact they have on their communities,” said Sylvia Hess, president of the Greater Harrisburg Association of Realtors.

GHAR is proud to have partnered with these five different local charities to give back to the community this October. We look forward to continuing to grow our relationships with these organizations and create a better place to live.
