GHAR Foundation presented three grants to local organizations

CAMP HILL, PA (October 12, 2018) – The Greater Harrisburg Association of REALTORS® Foundation announces it has presented three $2,000 grants to organizations supporting the greater Harrisburg community. These funds will help advance their housing and shelter-related missions.

Three organizations: Downtown Daily Bread, Bridge of Hope, and Brethren Housing Association, were honored by the Foundation at the Greater Harrisburg Association of REALTORS® Annual Meeting and Trade fair at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg on Oct. 11, 2018.

Downtown Daily Bread opened a winter overnight shelter for homeless men in Harrisburg for the first time in 2017, in addition to their year-round day shelter that offers meals, counseling, shower, and clothing.

Brethren Housing Association provides transitional housing to single women with children experiencing homelessness.

Bridge of Hope works to prevent homelessness for women and children. They assist single mothers to achieve permanent housing and financial stability through employment and self- esteem.

“It has been my pleasure to serve the Foundation this year. It is most rewarding when I have the opportunity to present checks to our partners in the non-profit community,” said Isabel Warrell, Foundation Vice President. “I personally would like to thank these organizations for the great work they do to assist families in our community”.

Since 1993, the Greater Harrisburg Association of REALTORS® Foundation has donated over $700,000 to local non-profit organizations. This year, the Foundation is giving $14,000 to seven different community organizations.
