NAR Director

The National Association of REALTORS® Constitution states that each local
association with a membership of 2,000 or more shall be entitled to a number of Directors determined by dividing the membership of the local board by the number 2,000 and rounding any resultant fraction to the next lower whole number. Membership counts used to determine national Director entitlement are as of July 31 of the current year.

GHAR is entitled to a NAR Director again because our membership count as of July 31, 2023, exceeded 2,000! This is our third year. GHAR was first awarded a NAR position in 2022.

All interested applicants must apply by September 8th! Please see criteria and application details below.

Criteria to Apply:

Prospective candidates for NAR Director appointment shall meet the following criteria:

1. Be a member in good standing of the Greater Harrisburg Association of REALTORS® (GHAR) actively engaged in the business of real estate.
2. Have served in some capacity within NAR Governance, a state or local association of REALTORS® or NAR Institute. Society or Council

Per NAR, the NAR Director appointment must:

• Complete the NAR 2024 Director Application
• Commit to supporting the mission, priorities, and core values of NAR.
• Commit to fulfilling all the duties and responsibilities of the role and will abide by NAR policies.
• Complete an annual orientation and NAR fiduciary refresher module.
• Serve on at least one committee, forum or advisory group.
• Complete the At Home with Diversity class, Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing class and
  Fairhaven as a performance expectation prior to May 1, 2024.
